It was almost 5pm when Ynah woke up. There was a disgusting mildew smell in her room. Empty bottles were scattered everywhere on the floor and the overflowing ashtray and fast food wrappers were stinking.

There was nothing left from the euphoria she had last night with a group of strangers she just met from the club. She felt empty and lonelier than ever. Nothing seemed to make sense anymore and everything seemed meaningless.

Ynah had been in a relationship with Andrew for 10 years and they were FINALLY about to get married.

Three weeks before the wedding, Andrew backed out. It struck Ynah like a bombshell and her world and her life collapsed right before her eyes.

It was one of the most traumatic experiences any woman would ever have to endure.

Feeling humiliated, Ynah avoided seeing her friends and relatives for weeks. She was a fighter, but this time the confusion and the betrayal defeated her.

One day she turned on the TV and a simple commercial for a beautiful island inspired her to leave everything and everyone behind and try to find herself.

She cleaned her room, packed her clothes, and made a phone call to an old friend. The next morning she started out on a 300-mile road trip alone to the north. It was a whole day drive.

Like any other journeys, the adventure came with a set of surprising lessons she learned along the way. Unexpected detours reminded her that life doesn’t always go according to plan, gas stations made her realize that there are opportunities everywhere; and that a new love can be found in the most unexpected places.

When Ynah decided to do some exploring off the main road that day, she got a flat tire. Fortunately, she got help from a good-looking local guy, whom she quickly warmed up to. They exchanged numbers and the rest was history.

Two years later, Ynah was wearing her wedding dress, but this time, love didn’t fail her.

You don’t have to make drastic changes to become a better person. Even the smallest things can improve the quality of your life.

If you’re single, you can get started by setting specific goals. However, if you have a partner, it is best to always set things straight. Sit down and take the time to discuss your opinions, objectives, and feelings towards certain things that could affect your relationship.

Ask questions. It is the most effective way to learn.

Then try wearing more orange.

It’s a hard color to pull off, but if you learn to perfect how to carry it, it will give you a natural glow.

Of course, it’s symbolism and is more about being experimental and brave than HAVING to wear a certain color. Whatever color you wear, it doesn’t matter if you don’t have the right attitude and if you don’t know how to work and socialize with people around you.

Follow your instinct.

Reaching for your divine self or for the power source of all the light and life within you, will increase meaning in your life. However, you should learn to tell the difference between intuition and emotions.

Emotions cloud your ability to see things clearly. They’re usually illogical, distracting and unreliable. On the other hand, intuition comes from your soul and is void of emotions. Therefore, when we are making decisions, it is best to be guided by the truth inside us.

To help you tap into your intuitive brain and gain clarity, check this out – “How to Access Your Intuition (Gut Instinct).”
