If you were given the chance to go back in time and change your past, what would you have done differently? As for me, I am not a big fan of regrets. I don’t like feeling sorry for myself so I just choose to believe that my life is pretty great and that I am doing just fine.

I am not saying that I’m proud of the crazy and stupid things and all the bad decisions that I’ve made in my past. It’s just that I believe that life has its own magical way of putting things in place in its own beautiful time.

Had I chose to leave my cheating partner at an earlier time, I wouldn’t have 3 incredible children. Had I made better decisions in the past, I wouldn’t have come up with all these stories and become the writer that I am today.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that I will never ever trade the wisdom that my experiences have taught me. It’s broadened my perspective and allowed me to see the positive and the meaningful sides of life. It’s also helped me grow and realize what I’m capable of.

Here are the things people who live their life without regrets do differently.

They Believe That Mistakes Are Blessing In Disguise

It’s amazing how much you can learn from messing up your life. Your experiences can make you kinder and wiser. Your failures and mistakes can turn you into a strong, independent and an extraordinary woman.

Ladies, when you’ve come to realize that everything happens for a reason, you will never feel sorry for yourself; instead you will have a bittersweet appreciation of all those times you screwed up and of how your life can be such a beautiful mess.

Writer Karen Schneider shares a heartwarming story on how she fell in love and got married at an early age. In fact, she used the word “settle” and gave extra emphasis on it because she wasn’t really sure what she was doing and she was just letting the circumstances lead her way. As a result, she grew up the hard way and ended up living a life that she wasn’t really prepared for.

However, the best part of her story was that despite everything that happened to her, she was able to enrich her life and bring out her best self. She treated her mistakes as an opportunity to step back, assess herself, and recognize what areas she lacked in and was capable of growth.

They Spend Their Time Doing Something that Fulfills or Challenges Them

They don’t waste their time making excuses, sitting back and playing it safe. They believe that no one achieves greatness by staying within the four corners of their comfort zone. Instead, they invest their time in doing things that they’re passionate about and on the people that truly matter in their life.

In an interview, Eporta’s CEO and Founder Aneeqa Khan says that she feels happiest when she’s being challenged. This kind of attitude was one of the reasons why she has already achieved so much at such an early age.

So, ladies you better ask yourself right now about what you’d really be willing to do or what kind of job can make you wake up every day with excitement. And when you’ve figured it out, go for it, deal with the pressure and work hard to get really great at what you do because there’s nothing more miserable than fooling yourself and pretending that you’re happy doing something that you don’t like.

They Take Care of Themselves

Health is one of the most important things in life. However, even though most people possess the common sense to understand this simple fact, many still choose to neglect and skimp on their health.

To avoid feeling sorry for yourself in the future every time you try to look back on how you lived your life, do yourself a favor ladies and start eating right, stay physically active by exercising regularly, and avoid doing things that you know are unhealthy for you.

And speaking of bad habits, writer Lauren Weiler shares these 6 unhealthy practices that are severely dumbing you down and keeping your brain from achieving its all-time high.

They Own the Decisions They Make

People without regrets don’t play victim. They have learned to accept that life is not fair. There are people who will cross the finish line first and there are also those who won’t even make it through half of the race. Others will endure some beating, while some will get knocked down and get left out in the gutter.

Ladies, remember that in life, you always have a choice. You can choose to stay in the gutter or you can decide to get back up and keep going. You are responsible for your own life so be accountable of your decisions and be certain in what you really want to do in your life.

In the piece “12 Reasons You Should Never Regret Any Decision You Ever Make,” writer Wendy Hernandez explains the importance of owning your decisions when it comes to refining your skills, increasing your resilience to disappointments, learning self-forgiveness and creating your own life.
