Have you ever encountered people who just keep on complaining about certain things in their lives that they can’t seem to solve but they’re just actually sitting on their hands and not doing anything about it?

One of my closest friends, Nikki, feels bad whenever she goes shopping for clothes. She’s always having a hard time looking for something that would fit her good because of her size. Last time I accompanied her to buy a pair of pants and she actually ended up crying because we checked out almost all the stores in town and nothing that she liked fit her.

I feel sorry for her and for all the other people who are in the similar situation but here’s what? How can you complain or whine about something if you’re not doing anything about it? Do you actually believe that you will shed off some pounds crying?

I’ve encouraged her many times to exercise and even tried to compute her metabolic rate so she can at least work on her calorie intake. As a friend, I can only do so much.  Her husband bought her a pair of running shoes so she can jog in the morning, but she was always feeling lazy to get up.

It only takes one person to change your life and that is none other than – yourself.

If you want to be in good shape, then get up and exercise! Stop feeling sorry for yourself.

Finding time to exercise can be overwhelming, especially when you have a busy schedule but it is important to keep yourself healthy and energized.

There are ways to making weekday workouts happen, that is if you’re really determined to do it. You can start by doing twenty minutes of low to moderate exercise, three times a week. Also, you can try doing different routines so you won’t get easily bored or find some workout buddies to make it more fun.

Unlock your true potential by staying focused on your goal.

Always keep your eye on the prize. Do not allow yourself to get distracted by your self-defeating thoughts, by the people who want to pull you down and by the things around you. Instead, gather all your creative energy and put all your powers to work to become a better you.

Ladies, you have to love yourself enough for you to always look forward to improving and upgrading yourself.

Just like everything else in this life, loving yourself takes hard work. You need to have some sense of self-worth and you can achieve this by not accepting anyone in your life who doesn’t appreciate your value.

In the piece “Why You Shouldn’t Give That Guy Who Ghosted You a Second Chance,” writer Anne Cohen explains that issues and problems are inevitable in relationships, but you can’t be the only one fighting.

So, raise your standard girl by finding someone who is willing to make time for you, who actually appreciates your worth and who sees you as a priority and not some past-time.

Another important thing to remember if you want to make things happen in your life is to have passion.

Be competitive and have the tenacity to win.

According to Michael Glauser, this characteristic is a must especially if you want to become a successful businessperson.

You must be enthusiastic in pursuing outcomes, willing to compete with the giants and driven to win. Also, don’t hesitate in taking the lead. If you have a brilliant idea, blaze your own trail and don’t wait for others to follow.

For sure, you will encounter some setbacks and breakdowns along the way but you should never give up. Redesign your product or reinvent yourself if you have to.

Remember, nothing great is easy to build. You may have to hit rock bottom a few times to get there but long as you know how to keep your zealous tenacity alive, you will definitely get through with flying colors.

Make things happen in your life by consuming less and producing more.

Understand the difference between greatness and mediocrity. There’s nothing wrong in enjoying yourself. However, the problem begins when it reaches the point that you are actually impeding your ability to create or be productive.

It doesn’t make sense to “eat, drink and be merry” and then worry about tomorrow. So, just keep your life simple and just dedicate yourself, your time and your hard-earned money to things that are truly important.

Ladies, it is possible to look fabulous without turning your bank account into your worst nightmare. You don’t necessarily have to keep the same exact list. You just have to let go of the things that you don’t really need and only keep those that are essential.

Living by these principles doesn’t guarantee that you will have a perfect life and that all your dreams would come true. But it will definitely make you more effective in accomplishing meaningful things and it will not keep you stuck in your doubts, insecurities and fears.
