Wouldn’t you like to know that even the hottest A-listers have not so perfect complexions and perfect pouts? However, they’re all perfected by a little magic known as makeup.
You too can look Hollywood ready by implanting these helpful tips from makeup artists.
#1) A Clear Complexion Sets the Foundation
A good foundation sets the tone for a flawless makeup application. No one looks that great with cakey makeup on top of bumpy skin.
Instead, zap those zits and unclog those pores, using Kiehl’s Rare Earth Pore Defining Cleanser system.
As with anything, good things take time, do don’t expect immediate results. However, your skin will improve over time, giving you the glowing skin that you’ve always wanted.
#2) Go For Big & Sexy
Want big and smoldering doe eyes? Try a slate (not black) colored liner that will define your top lash line, and use a white shimmery shadow in the inner corners of your eyes for that irresistible effect. Lastly, swipe on a couple coats of mascara for that sultry look that will be sure to turn heads.
To take it up a notch, try a colored liner, such as emerald green or blue, available by Wet ‘n Wild at Walgreen’s.
#3) Pillowy Soft Lips
Want soft, plump, kissable lips that command attention? Try Sally Hansen’s Full and Radiant Lip Definer.
It is a colorless, shimmery, moisturizing lip balm that highlights areas of your lips, giving the illusion of a fuller pout.
Simply swipe on a little on the cupid’s bow and the area between your nose and top lips for that sultry effect. Apply your favorite shiny lip color (matte ages you and makes your lips look thinner). Next take some more of the lip balm and apply it to the center of the bottom lips.
Now you have sexy, look-at-me lips.
#4) Go Natural
Ever wondered how the stars are able to get that flawless, natural look and still look radiant? Well, now that look can be yours with the simple swipe of a brush.
The tapered bristles of a brush can really get into those little crevices of the face, claims makeup artist, Mally Roncal, making the flawless look that much more doable. Make sure that your concealer also contains salicylic acid if you are prone to breakouts.
Lastly, set everything in place with a skin-tone matching finishing powder, like the Age Rewinder Finishing Powder, by Maybelline.
For an added glow, a little bronze goes a long way as well, such as the Sun Bunny Bronzer, by Too-Faced.
#5) Bring out Your Cheekbones
For that laser sharp cheekbone look, you’ll need both a highlighter and a bronzer, that is two shades darker than your natural skin tone. The highlight illuminates the bony part of your cheeks, while the bronzer, softly darkens the hollows of your cheeks, giving you the illusion of chiseled cheekbones.
Simply make a fish face, dust on the bronzer into the hollows creating that smoldering look. Then smile, sweeping on the highlighter for a more natural look.
For an enviable face, go with the Bobby Brown Shimmer Brick in Bronze, which contains both bronzers and highlighters in various shades, or you can use sweep all the colors across your face, for a simply radiant glow.
#6) Define Your Brows
Revlon ColorStay Brow Enhancer Tinted Wax is a great way to get natural, even eyebrows.
To apply, make sweeping motions in the direction of your natural hair, the blend throughout the entire length of your brows, using short, sweeping motions.
Try not to make your eyebrows look too heavy though, just enough to cover up the bald spots.
#7) A Smaller Forehead
Sounds weird but experts in Hollywood rave about this look. If bangs aren’t that flattering on you, but you would like to minimize your forehead, then sweeping a slightly darker shade across is ideal. The idea is that the shadow gives off the illusion of a smaller area.
All you will need is a matte bronzer and a big fluff powder brush. Swirl on some color, tapping off the excess, then swirl along the hairline, from temple to temple in circular motions, making sure to blend and keep it light and natural looking.
