6 Ways to Sneak a Workout Into Your Day 1

Ladies, does your crazy schedule keep you from hitting the gym as often as you’d like? I’m a busy girl, and I live on a lake, so I try to keep my beach body top notch no matter how hectic things get. No matter what your daily routine is, here are a few things you can do while carrying on with your day to keep toned up & looking great!

#1) Rise up on your tiptoes while you’re brushing your teeth

Dentists recommend that you brush your teeth two or three times a day, for 2-3 minutes at a time. Since you’re only using your hands for that, try standing with your feet about 1.5 feet apart on your tiptoes in 30 second increments.

It might take a while until you’re able to stay up that long, but work at it – if you spend 9 minutes a day brushing your teeth, that’s 18 repetitions. It’s a great way to tone up your calves, thighs and butt!

#2) Take the stairs instead of the elevator

I worked in an office building a few years ago, and it was so old that the elevator broke down every few days. Within a few weeks of running up and down a few flights of stairs, my legs were looking great & my endurance had majorly improved.

#3) Fold laundry standing up

If you need to catch up on laundry, try folding it while you’re standing up at a table. If you hold your arms out in front of you while you’re folding instead of letting them rest on the couch, you’ll actually be doing a little work on your upper arms and torso. It’s not an intense workout, but every little bit helps!

#4) Leg lifts at your desk

Now, if you don’t have a lot of leg room at your desk, this one might not be the best tip for you, but if you do have enough room to stretch your legs all the way out under your desk, try doing leg lifts for a while when you’re working on a simple project that doesn’t require as much focus. This is great for your stomach and thighs, and can help you avoid circulation issues that arise from sitting for too long.

#5) Jog with the dog

If you normally take fido out for a morning walk, try speeding it up! I’ve never been much of a runner, but it does wonders for your entire body and my dog loves running next to me. Just make sure not to trip on the leash, and make sure that both of you stay hydrated.

#6) Squats while watching TV

Girls, I’ve tried doing sit ups and crunches while watching TV and it’s just way too hard to follow whatever I’m watching – squats are my go-to workout when I’m watching a show because I can still see and hear whatever is on.
