There’s no one in this world who can claim that they are experts in life. I firmly believe that our wisdom is only based on our experiences and our ability to make it meaningful and constructive. The latter creates a huge difference.

During my freshman year in college, I used to be an activist. I joined street rallies and protests for community improvement, attended educational discussions about political reform and participated in activities that sought positive social change.

One day, I got so tired at one of our public demonstrations that I decided to rest for a while. While I sat on the corner, I asked myself, “Why am I doing this?”

Sometimes, furiously demanding change doesn’t work, so you have to make it happen for yourself.

I was getting roasted under the scorching sun and feeling hungry and tired, and I was starting to lose my voice from shouting on the streets with nobody really listening. People were just passing by. And yes, they probably became aware of what we were fighting for, but – so what?

I started to feel that there was something wrong with the whole process that I just decided to quit.

Your capacity to create purpose in everything you do is the basic foundation that makes your life worth living.

I have realized that significant change is something that you can’t demand just by marching on the streets. It’s definitely bigger and deeper than that.

Change is deeply-rooted. It starts from within, from having the courage to confront our limiting beliefs, from being open to other solutions and from putting our knowledge into action.

Here are some pointers to guide us in finding happiness and creating meaning in life.

Connect with your loved ones and deepen your relationships.

Invest more time in creating happy memories instead of dwelling on your conflicts and disagreements.

Traveling is one of the best ways to create an opportunity to enjoy life together.

Nicole Ziza Bauer has some great tips for traveling couples to make sure that they get the most out of their trip while also allowing their love to flourish.

Strengthen your willpower to push yourself to get things done.

This one is something that I need to work on for sure, especially during the middle of the day. It’s kind of hard to sustain the same level of energy I had in the morning throughout the day.

Sometimes, no matter how hard I hold my ground and focus myself on finishing one single task, I always tend to give in to the temptations that are luring me in the opposite direction such as food, Facebook and those little chats with friends.

If you have the same problem and you want to nail your afternoon routine, here’s “10 Ways to Make Your Afternoons As Productive As Mornings.”

I think I’ve already mastered #5, taking micro naps to reduce fatigue and increase cognitive performance. Not eating alone is good, too. Having a meal with your officemates gives you the opportunity to improve your working relationships.

Utilize your time efficiently.

Be conscious on how you’re spending your time. Learn simple strategies on how you can be productive without sacrificing the quality of your performance and the results.

Think carefully before you engage in any activity and consider its benefits.

However, setting aside time to get fit can be very challenging, especially when we have busy schedules. So, here’s some good news for you, a 1-minute hardcore workout called Sprint Interval Training (SIT).

SIT involves one minute training exercise within a 10-minute time commitment. According to study, 30 minutes of SIT is equivalent to 150 minutes moderate-high intensity training.

Simplify your life by knowing what’s important.

A simple life is easier to manage and less stressful. Focus on the things that matter.

Many of us think that living an exciting life is about being fabulous all the time, spending a lot of money on expensive makeup and clothing that we don’t really need. It’s just impractical.

To help you realize that you can still look awesome without wasting your hard-earned money, you should try to take this quiz about telling the difference between a cheap bag and an expensive bag.

I tried it myself and it was fun! I actually got 6 out of 10, which means although I’m not a pro, I know what I want and I’m sort of clever with my choices.

You should take this challenge and see for yourself that real beauty doesn’t have a price tag attached to it.

Ladies, cultivating a meaningful life may seem a little challenging because it means working harder and accepting the fact that there may be roadblocks and bumps along the way.

However, once you come to understand that life is a process, you realize that embracing the whole journey, including the not so-pleasant part of it, is essential to achieving greater meaning and a sense of purpose.

I try to eat a very light lunch and get some exercise around noon, but I still get sleepy, bored, and distracted in the afternoon. I will definitely have to try some of the 10 productivity ideas.

I completely agree that more time should be spent creating perfect memories with your family. I think that time can really get away from us and before you know it, you missed out on so many things that you could have done with the people you love.

I promised to spend an hour a day to self-teach myself a foreign language, but I easily brushed it off when I felt lazy or had something else to do. I review my to-do list and think about the reasons every once in a while. It’s easy to get lost, so we shouldn’t hesitate to stop for a moment and organize our thoughts again. It’s an endless cycle, but that’s the fun of life, I guess.
